Rick’s Reflections- 9/3/2017

This morning we are looking at one of the best-known stories in the Bible. I hope our revisiting a familiar passage will encourage us all to be faithful to our Lord in the time He gives us. Noah is testimony to the fact that God has always chosen His own as an act of pure grace, and that eternal salvation is because of His initiative.

Noah walked with God because his life was lined up with God’s ways. “Can two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?” Amos 3:3

A major “take home” of the account is to notice how Noah’s character and lifestyle contrasted sharply with all others of his corrupt generation.

If we want to be used by God to make a difference in our time, we must be willing to live differently than the common culture of our world. Take a good long look at the world and at our Heavenly example. It is not hard to find areas where we can make a clear commitment to stand up and stand out as different. It might be costly, as a matter of fact I can guarantee that it will be, but that is exactly what we are called to do.

Kudos to the fellowship team for their great effort on the last movie night. A great movie and turn out. Be watching for the next big event. Take advantage of the opportunity to get to know some new people and be encouraged in the Lord.

Blessings,
