It is a blessed day as we gather to remember and celebrate the            resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In a time when there are so many distractions it is good to be reminded of the centrality of the resurrection and its impact on the world. Despite the over two century war on the doctrine, it is still the one event in all of human history that effects all of human life. It is the only true source of hope and the basis for true life transformation. It is indeed the pivotal doctrine of Christianity. It is what separates all the faith systems in the world. We have a living Savior, and that changes everything! We are not simply disciples of an honored teacher, although Jesus’ teaching has had greater impact on the world than all others combined. The center of our faith is not in a place where our leader is buried but it is a person, a living, eternal person, Jesus Christ, alive and ever present in our lives. A living Lord who will soon return for all those who have put their faith in Him. I hope and pray that you are among those who will be ready for that day! If you are not sure about that please make the effort to talk to someone about it today. Just as sure as Jesus came into the world in the flesh, He will return for His people. What a day that will be. John told the early church; “Dear friends, now we are  children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. (1 John 3:2-3)

That purification begins with having our sins forgiven by giving our lives to Christ and it continues as we orient our lives around His purpose and plan for us. There is no better way to live.

Blessings,

Rick
