I hope everyone else is as excited as I am about today’s picnic. It’s a great opportunity to spend time with our families- nuclear and the family of God- and to get to know each other better. In John 17, right before His death, Jesus prayed that all His followers would be one. It is in coming together as people of God and enjoying worship and fellowship that we grow into this role. It does something  wonderful to the heart to spend time with those with whom we share a common Savior and to be outside, surrounded by God’s beautiful creation. Of course, no one can argue with the food either.

If you have not yet decided to join us today at Camp Allendale, I encourage you to do so. If you are a visitor wanting to learn more about Eastview, this is a great opportunity to get to know the people here and have a good time.

In the meantime, we will conclude our series on “Life Lessons” by studying a man of great integrity: Daniel. Throughout his life, Daniel faced a number of trials that would push many, lesser men farther from God and into temptation. But Daniel’s life was all about consistency. Through the hardships, he always clung closer to God and this repeatedly put him on the right side of history. Today, we hope to learn more about the nature of integrity and consistent living by studying a particularly  famous event in his life.
