This week I have the honor of being the speaker at the 60th anniversary celebration for the church camp I grew up at. I attended there as a kid, worked many weeks as a dishwasher, team leader or grounds crew and later served as a dean for many years.

I am appreciative of our Elders thinking this is something I should do and for having a ministry partner who can step up and bring a great message. Nathan and I are excited about this new series. Angie has highlighted it in this Ministry in Motion. It is our prayer that God uses this series to help all of us get a clearer picture of His grace and as a result, as was stated last week, we would have greater appreciation for God’s gift to us, be less critical of others and in a real way take a giant step toward spiritual maturity.

We are looking forward to a very special month of September. With the Church Picnic just around the corner the Eastview family will have a great opportunity for fun and fellowship at Allendale. This is a camp that is having a major Kingdom impact as well. The Stability First Gala is coming up Sept. 28th and there are still tickets available. See Joe Mills, Sharon Bathory, Leisa English, Julie VanWinkle for information. Karen Luther is also helping us fill a table so join us for a special evening supporting a life transforming mission.

Later in the month Marty & Shelia Corey will be here to update us on the good work of their ministry, Open Arms. By the way, keep up the good work on gathering paper supplies for them.

See you all next Sunday, Lord willing!
