As we continue along, gleaning Lessons for Life from some of the great personalities of the Old Testament I want to remind you to not miss the purpose of these messages.  That is sometimes easy to do when we are covering familiar subjects and stories.  Paul tells us in Romans 15:4 that these stories were recorded to teach us and to encourage us with hope.

Today as we look at the life of Esther we can’t help but notice the invisible hand of God on her life and that life’s impact on the nation.  Ironically, Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not use the name of God but you can’t miss Him there at every turn.

The attributes of her life, like faith, courage and trust can be duplicated in our lives as well. Remember, the stories are not just so we have heroes but to encourage us to be heroes, simple people who trust God and by faithful obedience, change their world for the good.  We all can be part of a transformation story.

Blessings,

Rick
