This week as our text leads us to think about the significance of childlike faith, I would like to take this space to share a few thoughts about our ministry to and with youth here at Eastview. We all acknowledge the fact that our youth are not just the church of the future but a vital part of the church today. We have been blessed over the years with tremendous youth leaders and at this time have some of the best I have ever had the privilege of working with. Their passion and dedication are unquestionable. These past months have demonstrated their creativity and their ability to build faith into the kid’s lives. Their Children’s Church messages have been fun and engaging. The activities are great, and relationships are continuing to be built. I can testify to the power of these relationships in my own life. Yes, I know that was back in the stone age but…

As we move forward in this season of ministry it is the leaderships belief that we should be looking to bring someone on board to help encourage and better equip these fantastic servants in building up our youth ministry. The new budget has been adjusted to make room for this upgrade on some scale and with the youth team a description of this leaders’ responsibilities is being developed. We are asking all of you to pray with us that the Lord will lead us to the appropriate person and provide the needed resources to give our youth the best possible opportunities to grow spiritually and to be integrated into the life of the congregation in the fullest sense of the word. Now is the time to demonstrate our commitment to the Kingdom by investing in our youth. As our Lord said in the text for today; “Let the little   children come to me, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

Blessings,

Rick
