We’ve all been there… those awkward situations where conflict rears its head. Maybe it’s the careless words of a friend that wounds deeply, often without them even knowing. Maybe it’s the frustrating comment on a Facebook post by someone who loves arguing. Maybe it’s the inevitable encounter at the family reunion with “that relative”. We all have to deal with conflict at some point.

Even in churches we are not immune to disagreement. If the ministry of Jesus was filled with conflict, surely we can expect it at some level. The real issue is not when or why it happens, but how we respond. This is why Jesus gave a very clear teaching on handling conflict among brothers and sisters in the faith. At some levels it is counter instinctive, but if we apply His method, we will find that it is remarkably effective.
